Siemens HiPath & Unify OpenScape Legacy Support in Saudi Arabia

Siemens — later spun-off as Siemens Enterprise Communications, then Unify (acquired by Atos), then folded back into the Mitel family in 2023 — has been a major enterprise PBX vendor in Saudi Arabia for decades. KSA banks, government ministries, large hospitality estates, and Vision-2030-era corporate buildings deployed Siemens HiPath and Unify OpenScape platforms heavily through the 2000s and 2010s.

EIE has supported Siemens / Unify installations across this entire lineage. We’ve maintained HiPath 3000/4000/5000/8000 systems through three corporate-ownership transitions. We have engineering memory of dial plans, voicemail systems, hospitality integrations, and the OpenStage / OptiPoint phone families. The Mitel acquisition of Unify in 2023 makes EIE — as a 25-year Mitel Gold Partner — uniquely positioned to handle Siemens / Unify support and migration in KSA in 2026.

This page is for IT directors managing a Siemens HiPath, HiCom, or Unify OpenScape platform — what we support, what we migrate, and the engineering depth we bring.

Siemens / Unify platforms we support

HiPath 3000 — small to mid-business platform widely deployed across KSA SMB, branch offices, hotels, and clinics. EIE supports HiPath 3000 across all releases and feature variants (3300, 3500, 3550, 3700, 3800).

HiPath 4000 — large enterprise platform deployed in KSA banks, government ministries, large hospitality. EIE supports HiPath 4000 V1-V8 and the post-rebrand OpenScape 4000 generations.

HiPath 5000 — mid-market platform, IP-native, deployed across mid-size KSA enterprises.

HiPath 8000 — carrier-grade large enterprise platform; less common in KSA but supported where deployed.

HiCom 300 / 350 — older Siemens enterprise platforms; still operational at some long-tenured KSA customers.

OpenScape Voice — Unify-era flagship enterprise platform (post-Siemens-rebrand). EIE supports OpenScape Voice V7, V8, V9 deployments.

OpenScape Office — small/mid-market Unify-era platform.

OpenScape Business — current generation; supported by ALE / Mitel under post-acquisition arrangements.

HiPath Xpressions — voicemail platform for HiPath 4000 / OpenScape Voice. Supported by EIE for diagnostic, configuration, and migration.

OpenScape Contact Center — contact-center applications for Unify environments.

OptiPoint family (older Siemens digital phones): – OptiPoint 410 / 420 (entry) – OptiPoint 500 series (standard / advance / standard SL) – OptiPoint 600 (executive)

OpenScape SIP phones (current generation): – CP100, CP200, CP400, CP600 – CP710 (executive) – DESK PHONE IP family

EIE handles repair where serviceable, replacement from European secondary-market sources (where most Siemens legacy parts circulate), and migration to Mitel handsets when the underlying platform is migrated.

What support looks like for Siemens / Unify in 2026

Siemens / Unify support arrangements changed multiple times: Siemens-direct, Siemens Enterprise Communications spin-off, Unify (Atos), and the 2023 Mitel acquisition. Some platforms remain supported through Mitel’s post-acquisition arrangements; others are fully end-of-support. EIE provides consistent support across the entire lineage.

Diagnostic engagements — HiPath 3000 / 4000 cabinet diagnostics, OpenScape Voice troubleshooting, T1/E1 / ISDN BRI/PRI issues, SIP trunking diagnostics, voicemail (HiPath Xpressions) issues, ACD / contact-center tuning.

Parts sourcing — HiPath cabinets, line cards, common control boards, processor cards, power supplies. OpenStage and OptiPoint phone replacements through European secondary-market suppliers.

Configuration backup — periodic HiPath 3000 / 4000 configuration export, OpenScape Voice configuration backup, dial plan capture, hunt group preservation, ACD logic.

Voicemail support — HiPath Xpressions and OpenScape Voicemail diagnostic and configuration.

Hospitality integration — HiPath 4000 / OpenScape Voice with Opera, Protel, IDS PMS integration. KSA hotels (especially European-affiliated chain properties) commonly run this integration pattern.

Annual support contracts — flat-fee support agreements with on-site spares, scheduled visits, response SLA.

Migration paths for Siemens / Unify customers

The Mitel acquisition of Unify in 2023 changes the migration narrative. Unify is now part of the Mitel family — current Unify customers can migrate to Mitel MX-ONE / MiVoice Business with vendor-internal continuity.

Siemens HiPath 4000 / OpenScape Voice → Mitel MX-ONE — large enterprise path. Dial plans port to MX-ONE numbering plan. Xpressions voicemail data migrates to MiCollab. ACD / OpenScape Contact Center logic rebuilds on Mitel MiContact Center Enterprise. OpenStage and OptiPoint phones replace with Mitel 6900 series. Migration timeline 8-18 weeks for typical KSA enterprise estates.

Siemens HiPath 3000 → Mitel MiVoice Business — small/mid-market path. HiPath 3000 configurations export, dial plans port, voicemail data migrates. OpenStage and OptiPoint phones replace. Migration timeline 4-10 weeks.

Unify OpenScape Office / Business → Mitel MX-ONE / MiVoice Business — Unify-era to Mitel migration with strong vendor-internal data tooling continuity post-2023 acquisition.

Hospitality migrations — KSA hotels with HiPath 4000 / OpenScape Voice + Xpressions migrate to Mitel MX-ONE with HSIM PMS integration. EIE has delivered this path with hospitality cutover discipline (no service interruption during peak season, brand-standard phone selection, multi-language voice prompts).

Frequently asked questions

Is Siemens HiPath 4000 still supported? After multiple ownership changes (Siemens → Unify → Mitel acquisition 2023), HiPath 4000 / OpenScape 4000 receives some level of support through Mitel’s post-acquisition arrangements. Older HiPath 4000 versions are end-of-support. EIE provides consistent post-vendor support across the lineage.

What changed when Mitel acquired Unify in 2023? Mitel’s 2023 Unify acquisition brought OpenScape Voice and the Unify channel under the Mitel umbrella. For KSA customers, this means migration paths to Mitel MX-ONE benefit from vendor-internal data tooling and roadmap clarity. Mitel Gold Partners like EIE gained direct insight into Unify-side migration mechanics.

Can I still buy OpenStage 60 phones? New OpenStage phones are no longer manufactured. Secondary-market suppliers (particularly European) continue to provide OpenStage 15-80, OptiPoint, and OptiSet phones. EIE sources through vetted suppliers.

My HiPath 3550 has been running 13 years. Should I migrate? HiPath 3000 V8 and earlier are end-of-support. Migration to Mitel MiVoice Business is the typical answer for KSA SMB / mid-market HiPath estates with 12-18 months planning horizon. EIE will scope honestly.

What happens to HiPath Xpressions voicemail data when we migrate? Xpressions mailbox configurations, greetings, and message histories migrate to Mitel MiCollab through supported data export tools. Continuity of voicemail is engineered explicitly with rollback gates at each milestone.

Will my OpenStage 60 phones work on Mitel MX-ONE? OpenStage is Siemens / Unify-platform proprietary and does not transfer to Mitel native operation. Migration includes phone replacement to Mitel 6900 series (6920, 6930, 6940, 6970) for office use, or Mitel hospitality phones for hotel rooms.

How long does a HiPath 4000 to Mitel MX-ONE migration take? 8-18 weeks for typical KSA enterprise estates. Multi-site banking estates with OpenScape Contact Center extend to 22+ weeks. Parallel-cutover delivery for zero-downtime fallback.
